2023 Kineton-HbbTV Plugfest in Naples, October 2-6

Geneva, September 15, 2023 – The third 2023 HbbTV Plugfest in Naples, Italy, at the Kineton headquarter, is aimed at device manufacturers, broadcasters, technology providers, platform operators, research and development institutions and standardisation bodies.

This event provides an excellent, controlled platform for all participants to work towards interoperability; it once again brings together HbbTV application developers and manufacturers from all over Europe to drive interoperability across applications and devices. The 2.5-day event is open to everyone interested in HbbTV interoperability, including HbbTV non-members. It is part of a week-long series of events, hosted by Kineton, focused on HbbTV conformance, including a pre-release HbbTV Testing Event and the HbbTV Testing Group Meeting, which are open to HbbTV members only, from Wednesday, October 4, to Friday, October 6, 2023.

The HbbTV Testing event will be conducted to support hybrid working conditions; this will enable manufacturers to execute tests on their devices at the Kineton premises or remotely and log those executions as part of the evidence required to approve test cases for the HbbTV Test Suite v2023-3 release. In addition, tentatively, there will be the first execution of HbbTV DVB-I tests.

Representatives of test material providers, technology providers and device manufacturers will be available onsite to discuss and debug problems found either with the test material or implementations.

Since their inception, the focus of these workshops has been interoperability, primarily around new HbbTV features along with receiver implementations of the HbbTV specification as aspects have developed or been introduced.

Companies that are not members of the HbbTV Association can participate by paying a participation fee.
